A reminder to the students will be given to make sure that shoelaces are tied at all times.
7) Student Behavioral Objectives:
Psychomotor Domain – As a result of this lesson, students will be able to perform the different movements and form needed to execute a “set” in volleyball.
Cognitive Domain – The students will understand how to put the movements
together to perform the “set” successfully.
Affective Domain – Students will be working together so they can learn from
watching each other as well as learn how to cooperate with one another in various
activities. Today’s drill require that they work as teammates.
8) Introductory Activity- The teacher will have the students perform various stretches before the activity begins. (Approximately 5 minutes)
9) Anticipatory Set – Today, students will be focusing on the volley set which is the next step after learning the bump.
10) Teaching Style – Command
11) Lesson’s Instructional Formation – Squads
Instructional Procedure:
Game: “Balloon Buddies” (Approximately 20 minutes)
· Each student will be paired up with another. Teacher will pair the two randomly according to floor spots. (ex. A1 and B1; C1 and D1, etc.)
· The teacher will then hand out balloons already blown up to every pair.
· The teacher will demonstrate the set and have them repeat several times.
· The students will be instructed to self-set 3 times in a row. Each time; in which the partner will toss the balloon in the air and the “setter” will set. The partner will then catch the balloon and will repeat.
· After each student has set 3 times, we will move on to the next activity.
Activity: (Approximately15 minutes) “Bump n Pass”
· The teacher will refresh the memory of the students about the bump.
· The teacher will demonstrate both skills put together ( the bump along with the set or pass)
· For this activity, everyone will go back into their floor spots and will conduct this activity individually.
· The students without a balloon will receive one by the teacher.
· When the teacher blows the whistle, they will begin. (one toss in the air, bump, set, and catch)
12) Closing Statements- Again re-demonstrate the proper form of the bump along with the set, with and with out the balloon. (Approximately 5 minutes)
13) Reflection/Self-Evaluation of Teacher’s Instructional effectiveness:
Needed much more time for the activity portion. Will try to have materials given
out faster. Perhaps considering monitors to help.
